All Boulevard Garden Club (BGC) members are invited to join us for the annual Harvest Summer Brunch potluck on Sunday, August 23 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Location: Taylor Grady House, 634 Prince Avenue, Athens.
Our distinguished judge for this year’s entries is BGC’s own John Sangiorgio. John comes from a classical Italian family long-steeped in the tradition of the motherland’s cuisine. John has announced this year’s theme as “the tomato in all its glorious forms.” Entries will be accepted in three classes, all headlining tomatoes: sauces and chutneys, salads, and mains. Anyone is free to bring entries in any or all classes. Suggestion: for sauces and chutneys bring along a preferred sampling substrate, bread, etc.
Taylor Grady House is a beautiful and historic venue. We are asked to present a photogenic table so that any social media posts present the Taylor Grady House looking good. So please, no aluminum foil containers or Tupperware. This is a chance to take out that seldom used vintage serving piece and show it off!
Please bring your dish by 11:20. Additional parking is available across Grady Avenue behind the dental office.
Finally, the link to sign up will be in your email. This link also has a volunteer sign-up. Please volunteer! The house will be open early and late, 10:00 to 2:00 to accommodate set-up and take-down.
Your checklist:
A tomato dish to share, observing the above class entries
Bring entry by 11:20
“Nice” serving bowls/platters
Serving utensil
A card describing your recipe and main ingredients
An optional alcoholic beverage of your choice (BYOB)
Consider volunteering for set-up/take-down (see link below)
This is one of the highlights of the annual BGC calendar. We hope to see you there!
